Quick Tips; Relationship Growth during the Unsure Times

Do you ever experience such an overwhelming amount of bliss in your relationship that you feel as though your on cloud nine and nothing could ever change that? And then, BOOM….what just happened? One minute you’re totally in-love and the next you can’t understand what happened, and why you don’t feel the way you used to feel for that particular person. Does this sound all to familiar? I know that it does for me.
In my marriage, I have been in moments of bliss and several moments of wondering what happened to that feeling. The funny thing is, is that I find myself looking for outside reasons for what went wrong. “Oh, I’m just having PMS or just having a bad day.” Whatever reason it may be, it takes place inside yourself. Love is an outward expression of how we feel about ourself.
I believe ‘Love’ carries us to new adventures in life. For example; Tiger and I will be on cloud nine for a long while, then one day everything changes. It’s like two magnets resisting each other. We don’t fight, it’s more like the romance part disappears. But then after a week or two of resistance, an even better romance forms.
I used to believe there was something wrong with my relationship, until I chose to change the way I thought about experiences like this one.
Here are a few things I do to grow through the ‘unsure’ times;
- 1. I started becoming ok with the distance between us and believed that it was only for a season; it would eventually pass.
- 2. I made a conscious choice to not push against it, but go with it.
- 3. I’m still learning to communicate on this subject with my partner, since I believe communication is extremely important.
- 4. During this time, I tend to get critical of Tiger and anger builds up inside of me. I am now learning to laugh when these thoughts pop up. (It’s a great remedy….you should try it!!)
- 5. I reflect on past experiences and remember how we have always made it through. (And with a cherry on top!)
Love is an adventure. Sometimes we’re having the best time ever and the next moment we’re hurting or angry. Love exist to help us reach more heights in this lifetime. If Love was easy all the time, how would we grow and blossom our relationships? I like to think of Love as a journey to explore.
After the unexplained distance between Tiger and I passes, we communicate on an amazing level that goes deeper than what we were able to experience before the whole episode. Our relationship reaches higher levels and a more profound romance is formed. We both learn so much about ourselves and each other that there is an overwhelming amount of emotions involved; which I believe is the reason why we’re able to grasp a new understanding.
